Since a tps reset is required after disconnecting the battery, would just backing off the throttle plate before reconnecting the battery do the trick?
I want to get a EBR ecm for my Uly which will require a tps reset and I don't want to risk corrupting it with my ECMspy.

The battery has nothing to do with the TPS, disconnecting it will not reset the TPS.

A TPS reset is only required after replacing the ECM or the TPS itself.

You can use Tunerpro Rt to do the reset without corrupting it.
