Just bought a used 2005 Buell XB12S a few weeks ago. The bike looked to be in good condition although it was laid down in a low side. It was intact except for a shredded oil cooler. I fixed the oil cooler and put a new battery and she started right up. I was able to ride the bike and shifted through gears until my second lap around the block it got stuck in second gear. No matter what I did the gear did not budge. I saw a similar thread regarding a Uly that mentioned the pawl and shaft get damaged with accidents where the shift assembly is impacted so I opened up the primary to check.

I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking at and I don't have a reference for whether there is anything wrong with the pawl although it seems the spring at the top is sitting a little loose as if the arm on top is not sitting properly (by arm I'm referring to the pivoting end on the shifter mechanism as labeled in the service manual). The clutch is in the way so I can't really gauge how the mechanism lines up and I didn't really want to keep tearing the bike apart unless I was certain it was something I could easily get to and fix with the tools I have on hand. I took some pictures for reference if anyone can point out anything to help me get this bike back and running I'd appreciate it. Otherwise I may end up loading her in the truck and taking her someplace to get fixed.
