Hey all,

Having a weird issue with my blast and have been looking all over for similar problems.

Anyways, bike's constantly low on oil(i.e. not showing up on dipstick when the engine is hot even after 1.7qt added) yet it's not leaking anywhere visibly, not burning off, and not dripping on anything I can see at idle. It's not a serious leak, because I can ride the bike just fine and the light doesn't come on(nor do I wait for it to get to that point without replacing oil).

Anyways, the HD engine "clicks" when it's low on oil, and on my bike it's well before the oil light would even come on. Well, I opened up the Air case and the walls all have oil coating them (I'm assuming that's because an Oil line runs through that case) and I checked that seal and it's about as good as it gets (there's no clamps on it).

Anyways, now my bike constantly sounds like it's low on oil and it's making me extremely nervous. The engine is making strange sounds (more so than the usual popping etc) when you downshift or engine brake.

Could this be a problem not with the oil at all but maybe with transmission?

Hopefully this is enough info to get you started. Let me know if I can help with anything else.

I don't know this bike at all but if your crankcase breather is routed to your airbox as is the case with most bikes,it's possible that excess crankcase pressure is driving the oil out of the crankcase and it's being burnt or leaked out to the pavement.
It has to be going somewhere!
Not leaking across to your primary drive perhaps?
Do you tend to ride hard?

I ride pretty hard, a lot of high-rpm riding but I don't bounce it off the limiter. As you said, the oil has to be going SOMEWHERE but as best as I can see, it's not leaking anywhere and it's definitely not leaking onto the pavement.

Clean out you're airbox and keep the revs down for a couple of days , if you get fresh oil mist in the airbox , you probably have a crankcase stuffing problem , the high revs are causing oil mist to be pumped out to your airbox which is then burned through the intake.
