X1 Lightning. I had to replace the cam cover gasket and took off the rocker boxes to relieve pressure on the cams. I re assembled the lower rocker and was able to turn the pushrods with my fingers. now that the bike is all back together there is a lot of clacking from the front cylinder. I'm aware that some ticking from the valvetrain is normal but this really seems a bit more than that. Do i need to take the rocker boxes off again and do something different? Not really happy with it the way it is- the rear cylinder is damn near silent.
The noise is most obvious near the end of this video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hy6B9rIzohg

Having been in there before to install the upgrade oil pump drive gear, I believe I know what is happening.

When I got the bike back together, it made so much noise I almost took it apart again, as I was convinced I had made a mistake. Thought about it for a while, and decided one or more of the lifters had 'bled down' while I had the cams out. Took a very gentle, sub 2k RPM cruise about the neighborhood for about 10mins, and all was well.

Hope this helps, Dave

I'm hoping you're right Dave. So far i've run it for 2 or 3 mins in the garage then let it sit for a half hour and run it for another minute or so to see if they would bleed up that way. Hopefully a gentle tour around the neighbourhood might do the trick. hate the thoughts of pulling the whole lot apart again. Paul

+1 on the gentle tour. I had the same experience.
