Hello all, I am new here and new to buell. Just traded my 1955 international truck for a 99 m2. SO, The bike sat for 2 years before I acquired it. Carb was off when I got it. So I put in a new battery and put the carb back on add fresh gas. Bike starts right up! Warm it up and try to move it under power and it stalls when I release the clutch and put load on it. This continues to happen no matter what I do. Anyone have any ideas what my problem may be? I am thinking perhaps The VOES vacuum operated switch? ANy help on this would be most appreciated, really want to get this thing on the rad asap! |

Sounds like a fueling issue. The engine should run quite well regardless of the state the VOES is in. If it were not switching under high vacuum I believe the engine would still run in the default ignition retarded advance curve.
So, the slide might be stuck or its diaphragm might have a hole or the main jet might be plugged or the accelerator pump might not be working 100%.
Try looking at the mouth of the carb with the airbox off to see if it squirts gas like it should when opening the throttle with the engine running. That should give an idea as to what to look at next.
As long as you have the airbox off, make sure there is nothing blocking the air passages like a rat's nest - hey, it's happened to others! |

With that said. If it were or is the kickstand switch. To make it work either replace it or unplug the connector to the switch and jumper it with a piece of wire to bypass it or test if it is the switch. |

Thanks everyone. I should get some time tonight or in the next few to get over to my buddies where the bike is at and have another whack at it. The advice is most appreciated. |

Many Thanks. Turned out it was the kickstand switch. Bypassed it. all good. now to deal with oil leaks |

Hey,glad it is running, please, please take time to replace that switch. If you ever forget to put your kickstand up, it will not be pretty. I see they have switches on e-bay for about $15. I watched a YouTube video of someone who forgot to put there's up and they had to be airlifted to the hospital. |
