Summary: Yes, they are over the top, feel like a winter glove, get stares at stoplights, and are hard to take off/on, but I can't imagine riding with anything less again.

Lost or misplaced my Held Profi gloves and don't like the name of the glove they make that is most like the Profi. The new one is called the "Steve". There are other gloves out there that I wanted, but I didn't want to spend over $100ish on something that I knew that I could easily lose or misplace again. I've always like the old Icon TiMax gloves and thought that they would look great with my classic black V-Pilot and my X-1. TiMax gloves are out of production and command about a $200 price if you can find a pair and if they are in your size.

I ran across these ($100 delivered from Ebay) and I'm glad that this advertisement isn't for a timeshare because I went for it hook, line, and sinker.

The review is great, but I will add a few things.

-I was able to get my wallet out from the internal pocket, then get my debit card out and punch in my PIN to get gas ~all while wearing these gloves~! I couldn't believe it.

-I think that I have very wide hands b/c it takes me a hard shove to get these things on. I ordered the mediums, and I am 5 foot 8 178lbs. Seems that I have wide hands b/c I got other people to try them on and they had no problem at all.

-the gauntlet is, indeed, stuck in no man's land. It's like they never decided if they wanted the gauntlet to ride under your leathers or over the sleeves. I struggle to get my sleeves under the gauntlets, but it works.

-the armor around your wrists is superb. Someone placed the armored "candy bars" just right.

-the quarter sized armor piece at the base of the thumb is in the perfect spot.

-you can't see it in the pictures, but the main thumb plate and the huge knuckle plate have pockets behind them. I stow my earplugs in the deep pocket under the knuckle armor when off thhe bike.

--I took a ride with regular street gloves and felt naked. It is one of those things where once you have it you wondered how you ever got along without it. Like the auto-down on car windows. It seemed silly when it first came out but you quickly discover the usefullness.

--they look big and are big but these pictures are all of someone without leathers on. They look better and more proportioned when the gauntlets are over leathers.

end, for now. More later.
