I am getting ready to change the oil on my 03 XB9R. Any suggestions on how to do it and what shock oil to use. (other than harley oil)

If you can get a hold of some kind of spring compressor tool it would be a big help. I rigged a tie down strap and some odds and ends to do the job but it was pretty gross and will try something better next time. Does anyone out there have any clever tips to compress the fork spring?

Good call on not using Harley fork oil. I used it for my Uly and its thicker that my old stuff and I don't like how much stiffer it is.

BTW, I have used Dextron III for fork oil in my old bikes and it seemed to work well. It's certainly cheaper than other fork oils that I've seen.
