Hi all, I recently had my gold xb ss wheels powdered black. In doing so I learned a lot , mainly the bolts in the front wheel are one time use. Meaning in case you are unfamiliar ( as I was), if you take the rotor off get new bolts when reinstalling it. I wish I had done more research before I started. I sheared a duralast torque wrench getting the rotor off and snapped a torques star head socket as well. Then when reinstalling the last bolt sheared the head off in the wheel. Then I new I had a problem so I backed out the 5 already installed bolts hoping to do so before the lock tight set up. The last bolt sheared as well. $ 112.00 and a machine shop later I am know trying to find fasteners for the rotor. Harley has not been helpful,( WHITE'S) Harley has been but they are out of stock and need to order them, then I would need to drive an hour to get there and pick them up. In the efforts of saving $ 20.00 I might as well find a place to order them for myself. Anyone know a distributor of these seemingly illusive bolts? Thanks for the help |

Since you have the rotor off, I recommend upgrading to the EBR rotor mounting hardware, it improves cooling the rotor and reduces the chances of you getting a "pulsing" feel. Oh, and it is cheaper than new stock hardware too: http://www.erikbuellracing.com/store/parts-accesso ries/brakes/front-brake-rotor-mounting-kit.html |
