Hey how are you guys doing today. I was wondering if anybody had some good advice for my 2006 XB12SS.
First I put hawk muffler on it. It ran fine (felt like it lost a little bottom power but fine). Then I did the breather reroute. It ran Fine. Then I did the swiss cheese airbox. It ran fine. Lastly, I put a K and N air filter in it. Then it all went bad.
First, it would crank fine and I could drive on down the road for about 15 min then it would backfire and cut off. It would not crank for about 5 min. And when I did it would run fine for a while.
Next, I tried a TPMS reset. Nothing change.
Lastly, I tried a few different fuel maps, being sure to do a TPMS reset in between and now its even worse. Even the stock map is worse now.
I'm stummped.

Installation of the K&N filter alone wouldn't explain your symptoms.

Have you put the old air filter back on?

How long did you get to drive the bike between each modification (muffler, breather re-route, etc)?

If you said "would not start" for 15 minutes instead of saying "won't crank", then I would have said you have a dying cam position sensor.

Usually you go back to the last thing you did. See air filter. Did you bump your intake seals? You may have to much O2.
