I have a 2001 Cyclone that is not getting oil to the top of the engine. I know my oil pump is working because I took off the hose and pumped it with just the starter... out came the oil!!

I have replaced all seals and gaskets. I get pressure to the filter.. and it holds pressure there for a long time. It can sit for 10 minutes and the light will still not come on.. and if I twist the filter off a bit air squirts out.. leave the filter off and crank the engine I get oil coming out as if it was running to the filter. I have tried two different filters with the same result.

Am I supposed to prime the engine for oil in order for it to flow throughout??? The motor did sit for about a week with no oil and the cam cover off (but covered up so it stayed clean!)

Just a SWAG - are you sure you have the correct cam cover gasket in there? 25263-90C is the one you need. B suffix will block oil to the lifters and top end.

Ah HAAA!!!

They sold me the wrong gasket! The parts department said that the 25263-90c has been upgraded to a "D" suffix. Sound correct??

Could be, I didn't know it had been upgraded - again. If they sold you a B, that is your problem. If they say a D is a good replacement for a C, go for it.

I got it worked out. Runs great now with the right gasket. It was the "D" suffix.
