I'd have thought Ebay would be full of after market motorcycle drive belts for Buell, I can get about every other wearable part but when I search G0500.1AKF I get zero hits.
Am I missing something obvious?
I snapped the original factory belt G0500.1AKD and learned the replacement is a new and improved LOL sounds like laundry detergent. None the less there seem to be lots of after market options for HD bikes, is there an aftermarket match suitable for this beast I have? Dealer list price for oem $260 plus tax mans payoff and shipping. With Canadian dollar on par with USD can't help but feel abused here. USA Buell dealers don't want to ship to Canucks these days}

There are no aftermarket belts that work on our bikes, so you are going to have to bite the bullet and get an OEM one. American Sport Bike will be your best bet, they charge the same price as American dealers ($182), but at least they will be willing to ship to you. Ignore the shipping calculator on their website, it overestimates.

Thanks Froggy, I'll check out American Sport Bike today. I am also looking for new tires, not great selection. The Pirelli Scorpion Trails seem to be well reviewed, I do venture off onto some rough gravel roads on occasion, I really like the Metzeler Tourance but wanted to stay with the recommended tire size, any suggestions?

I absolutely LOVE the Trails. You aren't going to find any real off road tires for your bike, Continental is coming out with 180/70/17 sized version of the TKC-80, but they have been promising that forever. Given the growing popularity of the Adventure bike category, the tire makers are starting to pay attention.

American Sport Bike will ship be the belt ($50 shipping charge was probably as well to get it locally especially if Mr Customs and Revenue put their thumb in the pie.
I will have a buddy stateside buy me a spare next time he comes to visit.

I was checking out the Pirelli Scorpion Trails review on the forum and will try those. The rear only comes in a 190/55 r17 assume that runs without issue.

I love the trails, here they decommissioned the railway 20 yrs back so all the railbed is pretty much intact, you can explore most of the island that way if you want.

Did you contact American Sport Bike about the shipping? The online calculator, which grossly overestimates says "UPS Standard To Canada - $29.84" without having your exact address.

The Scorp Trail has been available in 180/55 form for over a year, I've ran them for about that long on my 1125R.

How does the tire life of the trails compare to something like a sync, or a PR2?

I'd get about 5k out of a sync on the rear of the 9sx, but only got about 3k with them on the Uly, so I switched to the PR2. I'm guessing I'll get 5k to 6k on the PR2 (but that included a few days of pretty hard riding on some SC chip and seal sandpaper).

I can't answer the questions on the tire comparison but I did find this review on this site on the trails, I don't ride aggressively enough to need a super sticky tire, looking for some dirt and wet weather grip, the Trail seems to offer that and good durability.
