I have the Uly apart to address a broken head from my accident, and at 20k miles I'm seeing some significant wire chafing. Some caused by motor movement as a result of the broken head, but other parts just wearing.

So before it goes back together, I'm going to armor it up.

After some thinking, I am going to use this stuff:

http://www.rescuetape.com/

I have some, pricey, but cool stuff. It will be very strong, very temperature resistant, and very thin (and as thick as I want to make it). It can be installed without disconnecting anything.

Harbor Freight has a cheap alternative, but it is definitely inferior, I keep some around and use it, but not for the same tasks. It is not nearly as strong, and probably not as temperature resistant.

I'll post here to report how it goes. If anyone else has any experience with it, post it up!
