So i have been hunting solutions to my crank problem, suspect a worn pin/brg, have yet to open and inspect.
Have done a bit of research that has indicated that the rods from the 883 and the sportster are only 3.9 and 4.25 mm longer respectively. Given that, if the info i have picked up both here and elsewhere, the pistons on the xb9 are raised dome hc units, it may be possible to use either rod with some mods to the pistons if all else fails, notwithstanding the crankpin dia of course?

I strongly suggest you call Dark Horse Crankworks (Hoban Bros) in WI to help you with your XB crank. they are the best and they will do it the right way.
