@ M1Combat:

Exclusively in this place and exclusively for You:
Mookie asked what FAST would feel like. There are three possible ways to go:
1 Mookie buys the FAST system. That would be good for Hillbilly Motors and me, but actually that was not the intention behind his question.
2. Mookie copies the FAST system. I told him the technical idea behind. Still it would take some time and maybe a little money to do so.
3. Mookie takes the risk to do what I told him to do. This is completely cost free and will give him a quick idea of how the engine will feel with FAST yet it implies the risk of drawing dirt into the engine. Not that I didnīt mention that he will be running without an air filter. So I offered my knowledge while the decision is up to Mookie to take the risk. Is think this is quite fair.
If You expect me to provide no-cost-no-risk-solutions to everybody You obviously forget that Iīm a Pro which means that I have to earn money for my family and me with my business.
Maybe I didnīt put enough emphasize on the "You run no air filter" fact. So I will do so now:

MOOKIE, IF YOU DO WHAT I TOLD YOU TO DO YOU WILL RUN WITHOUT AIR FILTER!!!! IF YOU DO SO YOU WILL TAKE THE RISK OF DIRT ENTERING YOUR ENGINE WHICH MAY RESULT IN ENGINE DAMAGE!!!! SO IF YOU DECIDE TO DO SO BE AWARE AND ONLY DO IT FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME!!!!

BTW my asking to please report the results was superfluous as I already know the results. We did hours of running without air box and air filter during R&D work for FAST. On the street, on the race track and on the dyno. So all I wanted Mookie to do was to share his experience for the sake of others -like You M1Combat- not to have to take the risk of running without air filter.

Best regards
Alex
M-TeK Engineering

P.s. If You knew how much of my own engine stuff I killed during my R&D work to be able to offer technical solutions to others You would probably be ashamed of having told me to use my own equipment for research.

Before I forget it:

Thanks to Blake, Phillyblast, Ortegakid, Henrik and Hogs for sharing their opinions and experiences on running an engine without air filter which absolutely corresponds to my experiences.

Yet normally I donīt have my customers go without air filter and we even run an air filter on our race M2. Sorry to say again but this is the idea behind FAST: get rid of the air box to gain more air flow while still keeping the benefit of an air cleaner.

Best regards
Alex

"bruce they come with the f.a.s.t. system "

I was looking to get the shield only. Anyone making this or do we need to fabricate. I see a business here for someone with the skills!

I already have the Race Kit and the 12 airbox on my 9S. I don't see me going to the FAST system.

"Hillbilly sells only the shield as well, Bruce."

I went on the Iron Machine site and did not see the blanket all by itself. Am I not looking in the right place?

Thanks

If you look on the Hillbilly site you can find just the shield. E-mail Jens and ask him about it. It is 119 Eu - but not sure if that's just the mat or if it includes the aluminum stack in the picture.
