Howdy!! My name is Barrio.... This is my first post...
I have an issue with my bike... Nothing happens when i press the starter button... Lights dont dim, no clicking of relays or starter... I have a brand new battery.. Bypassed the kickstand switch, and the clutch switch..
I cant find the starter relay.. Does anyone know where its located??
Or i was thinking maybe it was the starter switch assembly on the handlebar...
I have a 99-2000 cyclone manual, but im thinkin its not the same... Also, i cant access the online manual here for some reason the pdf links are dead, i adobe acrobat and adobe reader, and tried it on 3 different computers.... Argh!!! Lol!!

Also, if anyone ever needs advice on paint or airbrushing, i have 20 years experience..
Here is a photo of the bike...
Took the turbo off, with the dual cv carbs, it was too great of a battle to tune this thing to run right, so, now im just running a race exhaust and dual carbbs..
If anyone has any advice imwould greatly appreciate it!! Thanks in advance!!

He had snagged a wire and pulled a connection loose near the steering neck. Have you any safety switches on your clutch or kickstand that can be bypassed? Kill switch working? Connections tight from your voltage regulator to the battery at the connector near the starter? Ignition switch bypass test?

I bypassed the kickstand and clutch switch.....
Finally changed out the starter relay a few minutes ago....

I took the ignition off... The wires had been spliced so it was an easy disconnect....

About a month ago, i remember while turning the key on, it had felt like it was hung up and it finally loosend up, maybe that was the beginning of the key switch going bad....
Im not sure, but, i was thinking about twisting the three wires together and bumping the start switch....
Is this a way to test the key switch and rule it out??

Thanks for the quick response man!!

Yes, that will work. I usually lay a chunk of thick solder across the three terminals and put the connector back together.

Well.... Bypassed the key switch...
I guess its either the start run/kill switch or the solenoid...

Kill switch can be bypassed, too. Just find the connector and short it out like the ignition switch. Did you replace the starter relay? Do you get good headlamp and speedometer illumination brightness when you turn the key on? Have you sent 12V through a jumper from the battery to the starter wire? That'll eliminate the starter switch as a suspect. If that doesn't turn it over, it's new starter time.

Replace all those splices with lap soldered joints covered with shrink wrap! You can get the shrink wrap at Wal-Mart in the automotive electrics area. Glad to help. Welcome to BWB!
