Hello All,

I just bought an 04 XB12s Lightning. I know the Jardine mufflers are pretty popular on the XB's, but what other mufflers do you guys like?

I also have a 98 S1W that I ride at New England Dragway with a Vance & Hines, which I'm pretty happy with. Anyone have a Vance & Hines on their XB?

Thanks.

I do not believe Vance and Hines made a pipe for the XB bikes.

You can read about what is available on the American Sportbike web site, they did an XB exhaust shoot out as well as an 1125 exhaust shoot out

there are 2 mufflers I like on the buell xb,
the drummer, is what I have, and it sounds great, really deep sound, and the special opps muffles are nice too, a little louder, with a bit more metalic sound. both the manufacturers are good people, and stand behind thier product, both are specialists for the buells, I have a drummer ss, and would not trade it for anything. the drummers do not require changes to the fueling, and you can run a k&n air filter, for even better performance without tuning changes, and you'll see a smoother more powerful bike across the whole rev range.

you may want to consider the kind of maintenance a jardine requires. ive never owned one, but apparently they need repacking often. the drummers and spec ops require repacking

check that - drummer and spec ops DO NOT require repacking. slip them on and they will outlast your motor

I wouldn't recommend a Jardine on the 12, on a 9 yes.

The Jardine usually requires repacking every 5k miles or so and if you find the right packing it will last a lot longer.

What about gutting the stock exhaust?
Does it help much, or require any tuning?
