Sorry guys but this is the only place I know I can get an honest answer. I own an 09 1125R. But that's not why I'm asking for help. Ok here goes. I am or have been fixing my father-in-laws 1986 Suzuki LS650 Savage. I did everything, it sat in the garage for over 10 years. I repaired it got it running smoothly and it rode fine. But some how and this baffles me it is carberated but the oil is like water and contaminated with fuel. How is this possible? I found this out by running the bike and when I rev it up the oil/fuel comes pouring out the crank case blow by hose into aircleaner box and out on to the ground. The oil is the consistency of water or should I say fuel now. Any suggestions. I do have the engine removed from the bike now with the valve cover off and the cylinder off. Gonna split the case tomorrow. Have to clean out the small pieces of plastic from the cam chain guides that chipped off. There original

Stuck float causing excess fuel.

I agree that it could be a stuck float but also a bad needle or/and seat. The gas will leak past the needle and seat thru the intake into the cylinders and past the rings thus pooling in the crankcase. Rebuild the carb and it should be fine. Or shut off the fuel each time but that is a real pain. Good luck.

Both responses above are correct, see both all the time on my carbed dirt bikes. Most (all?) carbs have an overflow spigot in them that allows gas to drain to the ground when the bowl overfills, but it's a tiny hole in the riser and it is probably varnished closed.

And on that note, a bike that sat that long is very likely to have idle/low rpm issues as a result of the pilot jet being varnished closed or necked down, so while the carb is open to fix the float bowl issue, you probably should floss the pilot jet with a strand of copper (not steel!) wire.

Hey thanks AL. I know somewhat about it because I had a bad needle/seat/float (whatever it was) go bad on one of my M2's awhile back that let a lot of fuel get into my crankcase. This got pushed into my primary during start up and puked out the breather. At least that is what I'm claiming and since fixing has been fine. Never had to replace the crank seal so I really got lucky.

Well I did rebuild the carb or at least I did tear it completely down removed all the jets soaked everything in my gallon can of carb cleaner. Used fine files found in most welders tool boxes and cleaned all jets and orfices in the carb. I reinstalled everything, adjusted the float. It did run great and idled good. But it does not get started or riden everyday. But the float needle is original so I'm sure the little rubber piece on the float needle is probably bad plus since it does mostly just sit there the fuel just seeps by and into the engine. Guess I will order a rebuild kit and replace with new parts and it should be good. Thanks for everyone response. I have only owned one bike before that had carbs ('03 Suzuki Katana) never had this problem with that.
