What have folks done to support the two parts of the bike as you separate the swing-arm? I'm changing the fuel pump, and looking at the best way to support the lower/swing-arm/engine portion of the bike. Thanks, Bryan | ||

Is this on your Firebolt? You don't need to remove the swingarm. You can jack up the bike, then disconnect one of the bolts for the rear shock to allow you to lower the swingarm even further. Once you do that, it will still be a tight fit but you can remove the fuel pump with some flathead screwdrivers. | ||

Thanks - Yes, it's in the Firebolt. I've looked - and considered that - but . . . how far will the brake lines go? Did you use a standard bike jack - will the exhaust support weight? (These are things I hadn't considered when getting the bike.) (Message edited by hunleycrew on May 22, 2011) | ||

Brake line shouldn't be an issue. Even if you somehow need the extra slack, just undo the right side footpeg mount bracket, it will come right off with the master cyl attached. The stock exhaust is designed to be a jacking point for the bike, but aluminum aftermarket exhausts will get crushed. | ||
