'03 xb9s in garage this winter. about a 1/2 gallon of gas maybe. started 4 weeks ago for about 2 minutes just to get it started. started fine at that time. went in again to do the same but now there's a loud clanking sound! fuel injectors still seem to be working. once i hit the button, the clanking starts. feels like it's coming from under the seat. i'm new to buell (about 2 months of riding before winter storage). any ideas or similar experience?

thanks.

Is it doing this when the bike is running or when attempting to start?

Attempting to start. My neighbor said it was probably due to a low battery. I added a gallon of fresh fuel and am charging the battery now. The bike hasn't started since I heard the noise.

Thanks, T. I'll check it out tomorrow morning. I have an '81 cb650 that never made that sound when the battery was low so that never crossed my mind when troubleshooting.
