I need to get a spare. Also if there is a source for parts to convert to the later model drive belt, pulleys, idler, etc that would be great!

American Sport Bike sells the belt and has a kit to convert it to a 04+ setup. The 03 setup is fine, its just more prone to taking damage due to mishandling during tire changes.

http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/17141.html is the 03 belt

http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/A17082.html is the conversion kit to 04 specs.

The rear pulley that we've always used in that kit is the Buell P&A diamond highlight pulley, which is less expensive than the stock pulley. I'm down to my last one, and will have to change to the OEM pulley for future kits once it's gone, which will cause the price of the kit to go up. I haven't seen the weekend orders yet, it may be gone already.

I purchased a final drive belt for my 1996 S1 from American Sport Bike and was wondering if it's directional or can it go on either way?

Jerbuell, the belt is not directional.
