It has no splines on it and a set screw only holding it on. Tightened the crap out of it and it still did it. The inner part of the shift lever, the part that slides over the shift shaft is plastic. The slot in the outer shift lever isn't wide enough to allow the set screw to clamp the plastic tight on the shift shaft. I widened the slot and was able to clamp the lever tight. That was 5 years ago, no problems since. I think I used a air cut off tool as the cutting wheel is real thin. I may have used a hack saw, too long ago, I don't remember for sure. It took longer to get the lever off than to fix it... Brad
