Mine is doing the same thing, I haven't spent enough effort to try and fix it, but I believe it is the carb intake boot needing replacement.

Das boot! Try tightening, if no help, replace.

ok the boot is the rubber coupling secured with two hose clamps between the carb and the intake . look from the right side of the bike against the top of the cylinder opposite the exhaust pipe towards the back . strait screw driver and 5/15 socket with 1/4 drive ratchet should get you tightened. good luck, CV

sounds like idle speed jet/ main jet tube may be gunked up. Our new ethanol fuel is normally to blame for this. Pull the 4 screws holding on the float bowl. The visible protruding jet one is the main.. pull the whole tube out . should have flats for a wrench..right next to that is a tube with the recessed low speed jet. gets removed with a flat head. These can normally be cleaned up with mechanics wire. Should solve the condition. Soak down junction between the manifold and heads to confirm no intake leaks.

Your assuming boot is fine - probably not though. The intake coupler is the most troublesome part on a Blast - consistently.
