salvages bike due to theft recovery. 2007 xb9r. 4pin plug under left side dash with blk,gry,grn,and red wire. is this just a code check plug. also replacing sub frame as well as some other cosmetics.guy i got the bike from said he rode it 8 miles with new battery and it ran fine but it dies on him. is there an alternator on the bike .any suggestions. trying to learn thanks

First, do yourself a big favor and contact the sponsor of your choice from the sponsor section and get a factory service manual. A must have, as Buell's Are Different.

Then start with the 77 connector. If it is good, the service manual has an excellent trouble shooting guide to the charging system. Dave
