So I have been having this issue since I got the bike... it has only 3500 or so miles. I have read hundreds of posts with related issues, and nothing has helped, just tons of deadends.

It tries dieing at stops, and begins to stumble once throttle is applied. It also does this while riding. I never know when it will do this, its pretty random. It even does it in the middle of corners, which is a little scary.

I have inspected as much of the wiring as I can access without removing the engine, and it looks fine.

Decided to give ecmspy a go, no codes show up. However, the rear fuel map is noticeably leaner than the front cylinder, and I think this is my issue. I burned a factory 2008 map back into the ecm, which apparently solved the issues! Power was way up too, for a couple of rides... then the problems came back. After checking the maps again the rear cylinder was running lean again.

Now what?? Swap the O2 sensors front and rear maybe??

Fuel maps cannot change while riding. They cannot change period unless you do something like you did and altered it with ECMspy.

Are you using original ECMspy or the new ECMspy mono? The original ECMspy isn't fully compatible with your bike, and doesn't report all the data correctly.

If you are using the newer ECMspy, what is it reporting your AFV to be?

What exhaust are you running? Any other alterations to your bike?

Also, your bike is only equipped with one O2 sensor.

I am using ecmspy, works flawlessly, but I have a ecm dated 1/08, which has been reported to work with ecmspy.

I burned the new eprom and checked the fuel map values, everything was good. Rear cylinder was slightly richer than front. Took it for a test ride, came back and no changes. Rode it a few more times, and it started acting up again, plugged it in again, checked fuel maps against "new" fuel maps, and they were completely different... so if they can't change on their own, how did they change without anyone changing them?

My bike can't be haunted, lol.

Will have to check AFV tomorrow.

thanks for your help

I just dl'ed tuner pro and pulled up the eprom data with it. The eeprom data matches what my "new" map is supposed to look like, SO its looking like the fuel maps, while running in closed loop, are leaning out on the rear cylinder in closed loop (warmed up), this is definitely where my problem lies.

So what do I do about it?

No one? Ground is cover in ice and snow, so not possible to test ride.

Should I make it run in open loop and see how she does.
