'98 S3, running Forcewinder air cleaner, Force open exhaust, 45 slow jet all installed by Buell dealer in Phoenix.
Motor pops & back fires on deceleration & sputters below 3000 rpm on acceleration.
Recent intake fitting replaced & new plugs.
Does the open Force exhaust need a baffle? The main jet is stock AFAIK.
Anyone have any advice for a new Bueller? |

Check the knowledge vault for info on the Forcewinder. I seem to recall that some of them need to be relieved around the float bowl vent hole.
Could be intake seals, too.

Just had the intake seals replaced. I'll check the float bowl tip. Thanks...revperry |

Check the intake seals. All 3 of them (front cyl, rear cyl and carb boot).
Just because they were replaced doesn't mean the did it right. |

I put a Forcewinder intake on a 2001 M2 and it belched and farted out the intake and exhaust. I thought it was the carb or seals so pulled it off and rebuilt and replaced them all. Well I reinstalled it and it ran fine. This was with the Forcewinder not on because if it did not work, it was one thing I did not have to remove again. Sooooo I put the Forcewinder back on and it ran like (see the first sentence). Well I removed it and it ran great (again). I remembered issues with their bowl vent ports so it is now at my friends getting the intake elbow port enlarged and angled into the intake stream. My mill/lathe was not large enough to clamp it down enough. I will let ya'll know what happens. I wanted to get it fixed before the snow flies and the salt trucks run. |

This might help. The one on the left is the old version. The vent on the new model is too small.
