I've had a D&D on my xb12scg for a few months now. I dig the fact its a bit lighter than stock and such but one thing still bugs me. I don't think it's loud enough. Everyone says the D&D is the loudest out there but personally I don't think it's loud enough. Did I install it wrong or anything? I can turn heads from a block or two away while in gear but as far as running at idle, I think it could be a little louder. I've been thinking about saving up and getting a Force full system but I've heard they tend to break easy. Is it sad that the second to loudest exhaust isn't loud enough? Or am I just going deaf? | ||

 perhaps there is something wrong with your hearing. maybe you could just run straight pipes by the way, excessively loud pipes are one of the leading threats to motorcycling as we know it. in the future, expect draconian measures against ALL motorcyclists unless we police ourselves. oem equipment laws are already on the books in denver and new york, with others certainly to follow. enjoy it while you can. | ||

I live in a state where there are no noise restrictions. Hell, even Omaha Police Dept's motorcycle cops run aftermarket pipes on their bikes. Here in Lincoln there is an officer who rides a Road King with SicPipes. I do have an issue while riding though. It's like instead of a steady engine purr, at around 2500-3000rpm it almost sounds/feels like it cuts out. In other words it doesn't run real smooth. Should I have my ECM remapped for a D&D. Does Erik Buell Racing sell a preprogrammed ECM for a D&D? | ||

My D&D has NEVER purred, n has NEVER liked being ran at around town speeds. I'd guess you're just a freak if you think its not loud enough lol but who knows maybe you hooked it up wrong, I dunno how you COULD have but who knows lol | ||

It is a hearing issue. I failed a hearing test yesterday but it isn't to where I need hearing aids. Playing too much loud rock, or too much bass guitar is my guess, I was always a "it goes to 11" person. |
