after attempting the swap (and everything that goes with it) i found that my belt is way too long and i couldn't get a proper tension, aside from the fact that the rear caliper wont even go that far back? do euro bikes come with shorter belts? am i suppose to put on a different belt for a 55T to work?

thanks!

Which bike was the 55t going on.I used that rear on my S-2 at Bonneville. The parts book lists some different parts for the adjusters so they move farther back.We just fabbed some simple spacers at Aarons so the bolts would not bottom out before adjustment was made. That was on the old style steel swingarm.(sorry about late post, but haven't been in knowledge vault for some time.)
