You heard that right - I just repaired and fixed my ETS! After clearing codes I kept getting code 14 after warm up, but mostly on highway speeds 4k. Now held it 5k 3rd - 5th for miles on open Hwy. No code straight and ballz to the wall performance!!! I haven't yet tested it, but don't give a crap! Long as its good as off. I will know when engine is THAT hot!

Glad to know they are fixable. I had to replace my ETS with new ones 2 times on my x1 in the past 10 years. I now have an extra one that just shipped.

So how did you repair it? The wiring? The sensor itself it sealed right?

I have two old ETS's the older version came undone at the sensor end and connector end. I stripped clean wire, and tinned both ends. as simple as tinning strained to a coaxial pin. I think what happens is the connections fail and need clean contact. I also resealed sensor tip, but in my case was probably not necessary. I'll try the same with other sensor, might just try solid romex with electrical tape and see how that works.
