I have no one to blame except the guy who put the pistons in last time (me)

anyways, here is the damage

Ok, so anyone have experience with this? The gouge is 0.090" deep. The cylinders are eldebrock RPM performer ones, as are pistons and heads.

1) Is that clip inside my crankcase? Will I need to split the cases to remove it?

2) new cylinder is in order, think I should upgrade? Can I go bigger with those heads?

3) the wrist pin now has a loose fit in the piston as compared to the snug/almost press fit that it used to have. new piston required?

Thanks guys for anyhelp. and remember, MAKE SURE YOU GET THOSE CLIPS IN!!!

Scott

Did the clip just fall out? Was it ever in? What year is the bike? There are some other things I would check before I put it back together.

I would like to see a detailed pic of the missing clip side of the wrist pin hole on the piston.

Here ya go! Looks fine to me. I also can't seem to find the retaining clip anywhere in the case

I have also determine that the wrong wrist pin clip was used....Apparently JE pistons require special clips. I had used stock HD
