I have a "muted" bell (low pitch) noise on my 06 XB12X. The noise is not loud, it is constant. It starts when the motor has warmed up and is above 3k rpm. The noise is not there at idle, once it does start it is a constant noise, not changing with rpm's.

I changed the primary to a XB9 ( the noise was there before and after, changed the ration simply because I was there), with a new chain and torqued the flywheel to 240lbs. The primary chain is within the slack range and there was no internal damage in the case. The oil has been changed and there was no metal in the oil or filter.

So, after all that am I just hearing the "Buell" sound or is there something I missed? The bike does not skip a beat - starts well, runs well and is a blast.

Maybe the horn under the flyscreen? I get a clacking about the time the front comes up for a wheelie... sounds like plastic on plastic. Haven't tracked it down yet, but am not loosing sleep over it.
