Hey Everybody, i got my 99 buell m2 cyclone here a few months ago ... i've finally got it licensed, plated and insured and within the last 5 weeks i've gone through 7 BRAND NEW batteries ... i had my mechanic install a toggle switch on my positive cable because it was going dead while it was sittin still ... $300 later the problem still isn't fixed ... it almost seems like it's not recharging maybe?? ... any suggestions?!? much appreciated

I hope you didn't mean that you spent $300 on 7 batteries!
A good battery runs about $100 on up.

Disconnect the 2 wire connector between the voltage reg. and the stator.

Check voltage of the stator with a vom, should be between 39-52 volts ac at 2,000 rpm.

No voltage, stators bad,if the stator is putting out the above volts.. most likely the voltage regulator is toast.

Something else to try that is quick and easy ......

Start the bike, and run the engine at 2k RPM. Attach a volt meter across the batt terminals. You should see something in the area of 13-14.5V DC. If not, then there is an issue in the charging system.

If you do get an indication of proper charging, disconnect the ground wire from the battery and connect the volt meter in series between the batt and the ground wire, with the meter set on amps. With everything shut off, if you have an amp draw of more than essentially zero, you will need to go through the bike one item at a time, unplugging stuff until you find where the amps are going.

All that being said, the charging system is more than likely where the problem lies.
