i have seen a few ideas, and just trying to find the right one to put bar end mirrors on while keeping the hand guards for my 09 cityx. i saw some crg's with hand guards that looked like they were clamped on the end cap the hand guard clips to. but the picture was not clear. any ideas?

Nah, it's too simple for instructions. You just replace the single bolt that operates the mirror adapter wedge with a longer bolt that has a washer, then spacer, then another washer. That creates the nub for the hand guard to snap onto.

Very informative! I was wondering about that myself for my 2005 city cross, but would hate to take off those handlebar covers! Definitely in my near future!

IMHO if you are going to buy bar end mirrors, you might want to consider the CRG Lane Splitters. They have a hinge mount that allows the mirror to fold, rather than a solid stem that may break off if encountering another object. I had solid stem mounted mirrors for about a week. I split lanes in the wonderful So. Cal freeway traffic and snapped one off. I bought a pair of lane splitters and they have paid for themselves 4 times over.
