Ive got a slip on (old style) SuperTrapp muffler on my Cyclone. Today when cleaning my bike I noticed that there is a small amount of play in the back of the system around the back clamp/mount. The rear mount is as tight as it can be but its like the clamp is slightly larger then the muffler.

Ive never noticed this before, is this normal? Do I need a new clamp? This system is pretty old, probably 9 or 10 years old.

Thanks,

Eric

I had the same problem. The little bit of play vibrated the front clamp enough, and the muffler fell off when I started my bike at work in front of several Semi-Snooty Touring riders.

I made a Shim from a Soup Can, and put this around the pipe inside the clamp. This worked fine for a while. But eventually it vibrated loose, and the muffler fell off again. So I went to the Former Buell dealership, and got a Sportster "P" Clamp, and replaced the rear clamp with that. It won't be vibrating loose anymore!

Thanks Maddonthony. I ended up emailing Onehugger at Supertrap. He sent me out a couple of clamps at no charge. Installed them and its fixed. Great Customer service! Im impressed!
