I was on my way home from work and the fuel light came on...Usually I can go about 20 miles give or take 1 mile. About 1 mile from my home the bike all of a sudden, with 15 miles into low fuel warning shut off like I was out of fuel. I put a gallon in it. When I turn on the ignition and hit the engine cut off switch I could not hear the FI make that whine. I tried to crank it over and it would not start. I even gave it some gas while pressing the starter button and a couple time it would make a thump but would not turn over. I'm thinking there is a problem with my injector or the FI is getting any pressure. Has anyone had a problem or heard of something like this? I would like to try and figure out what is wrong before I trailer it to the dealer.

My bike has 12,000 miles and this is the first problem I had with the bike. The only mod. I did was a Jardine slipon with K&N filter and that was put on over a year ago and at 1,000 miles on the clock. It has been running fine up until today.

I only ran it out of fuel one time on accident because I had know ideal how far I could run it. It ran out on me one time at 20 miles. That is what i based my low milage warning on and I try to make it to a gas station before 15 miles just so happens it shut off at 15 this time but I never got a warning it never sputtered...Just lost power like the engine cut off switch got hit.

I will also say. Before I added the gallon I shook the bike and heard a splashing sound in the tank but could tell there was not much in there but it had some fuel. There had to be about a half quart of fuel left. My bike gets between 39 to 42 miles to the gallon I have never gotten less than 39. This happen when the bike was upright for a good 2 miles.
