Got the '00 Cyclone. 1st impressions: Sure is yellow. The power band is linear & smooth in comparison to my Sportster. Needs tires & paint (did I mention how yellow it is?). I'm really going to like this bike. My immediate questions are: The top end runs outta steam short of 100mph. Think it might be the crack in front of the muffler, not gonna mess w/ jetting until this is fixed. How do I open the gas cap? I think it's installed upside down. This could really be problematic, I followed the book instructions & can get it to raise slightly but that's it. I'm going archive hunting.

I think some internal screws can come loose in that cap and make it a bear to get out, and the screws have to come out from the inside or something. Meaning fix it before it does what yours is doing ; ).

Let us know when you figure out how to get it out of there, welcome to the tube frames. : ) Usually, your first rite of passage is stripped screws on the derby cover, you have an interesting variation.

The bike is just testing you. Show no fear, and show great patience, and be firm but gentle, and your M2 will forever bond with you and trust you forever...

I still miss my M2...

Terry,
Bop on over to the "Old School" section, that's where all the tuber folks live.

Check your jetting, if it hasn't been changed from stock, it needs it..

You're gonna love that bike..

Fixed the gas cap w/ WD-40. Think I'm gonna like this bike, it's very...ridable?. All my Harley friends think I bought a motor to put in a rigid frame with a beachball tire. To bad they don't get the concept of evolution from biker to motorcyclist!
