im needing to fabercate and weld on a broken neck of a 08 1125r.. does anyone know what metal contents are in the aluminum? i want a solid weld!!

I don't know the alloy if that is what you are asking. However, it's obviously a casting, and aluminum casting alloys that are also weldable are fairly limited. Look towards the higher strength alloys that qualify. I'd be disinclined to use a weak filler like ER4043.

yea i kinda figured it was a casting looking inside the neck.. seeing no welds where the neck conects to the frame. iv never gotten to get good welds on any castings.. i think ima just go with a new/used frame.. or just weld the crap up with some 309 rod. hahah
