Okay,I had a bit of a look in the vault and couldn't find anything,but here's my question,riding the trusty stead on the weekend,weather was about 40 degree's C,so about 104F in you imperial units,as usual the fan was running under me most of the time,rode for about 4 hours and not a problem but just as I stopped to fuel up for the final run to home I stopped the engine and noticed the fan not running but did not pay much attention to it because i was riding into a slightly cooler headwind and thought maybe it had run cool enough not to warrant running at stop,after taking off after fuel for some unknown reason the bike just felt......well I suppose not right is what I would say,and that was when I noticed the check engine light on,I stopped right away and checked the whole bike out,nothing found and I had not noticed the fan not running. Anyway al was well and I did the last 100 km to home,all good get the lappy out and plug in ECMspy fault Code is as follows Byte 1:80 Bit 7:Trouble Code 36 Fan Short to ground or open What it was,was the fan fuse had blown,why?,because I put a new one in,and did a test with ECMspy again,and it didn't blow,long & short of it is has anybody got any idea why a fuse would blow?yet not blow when a test was done after the event,I have yet to take it out and do another ride with the engine hot,if it blows again,yes I suspect a fault,but now I am stumped as to what caused it. My '09 XB9SX has blown 4 fuses in it's first year. The starter/headlight fuse once, the ignition fuse the next 3 times. All 4 happened in a high temperature/low fuel situation. It never happens on a hot day with the fuel tank over 3/4 full. Stick in another fuse and top up the tank and all is well. My mind wants to tie those things together, but it is the mind of an old man who thinks XBs and Blasts are great motorcycles. | ||

Ronbob,my mind I would say is similar to yours,and yes it was a low fuel hot day scenario as well,come to think of it in the last couple of months the bike has blown several fuses which run the lights,blinkers,brake light as well,and just last night I mover the bars to lock them and the right side blinker/indicator came on with no keys in the ignition,not flashing just on as in a dead short some where,but all work fine when I fire it up?............go figure!
