I have read a lot of posts in this forum on this subject and I have decided to mount PIAA 510's onto a GME light bar on my new 2009 XB12XP. Here is the question.

Will my stock turn signals be clearly visible to traffic since they are situated just above the PIAA lights and the headlights or will their illumination be lost in the white light?

Also, I am thinking of augmenting the stock turn signals by mounting an amber LED strip of 15 LED lamps onto the hand deflectors and wiring them in parallel with the stock leads to the turn signals (by tapping into the leads to the turn signal lamps). Can I do this? If there are problems how can I do this and overcome the problems?

Thanks I'm all ears

Not sure about the PIAA lights washing out the signals. What I am sure about is how much they cost. Too rich for my blood. I took the red/blue LED's out of my XP housing and mounted $10 FOG lamps from NAPA. I purchased Whalen TIR3, in amber color and mounted them to the wind deflectors and wired them to be always on through the aux power and then used a relay to get a signal from the stock turn signals. So, the AMBER LEDS are always on until I turn on a signal and then they go out when the stock signal comes on. This essential turns them into turn signals themselves. Very slick. The TIR3 are available on the Internet for about $40 each. I will try to post some pictures what what it looks like.
