Is there any interchangeability list anywhere or a parts fiche on line? I go to a parts house and they give almost no information , they just say "buell master cylinder". We all have played the game of shipping parts back to get the right one and I do not want to go thru that anymore.

With my BMW airhead, there is a fiche on line for every BMW ever built with part numbers that you can cross reference and see what other bikes use the same parts. but Buell , NOOOOOO , not that I have seen

Is there one out there or do we just cross our fingers that the parts guy in BFE will send the right stuff........ I want to know the part number and what other bikes use the same stuff. I hate to go out and spend big bucks for a master cylinder when I could have grabbed a Blast master cylinder that was the same for 1/10th the price!!!

If we want to keep these bikes running for the next 100 years we need a good interchangeability list for all buells

WHY I NEED THE INFO is below aaaaargh

I just rebuilt the claiper on my M2, no problem was easy and took about a 1/2 hour.

The problem was the top of the master cylinder! One of the screws was frozen.(I have had it off b4) I got the best screwdriver I had and they held the bike while I put all 235 lbs on the screw and tried to back it out...NADA just spun the scrw driver in the screw ruining it. Tried to drill it and use an easy out, zip on the drills I had.... went to the hardware and bought the best drill bits they had and the drill just walked off and ate the aluminum.......I finally just drilled the top off the screw and pried off the lid arrrrgh.... so now I am in need of a master cylinder, preferably with the screws already loose!!!

Yes and no. Yes, most of the parts are interchangeable, and no there is nothing online.

Go to/contact an authorized Buell dealer, they can get whatever you need.

I have only done that once, and that was because my part was mis-labeled. Other than that, I have never had an issue getting parts.

Guess what? This is Buell, not BMW. Different in every sense. Anyway, you should be pointing the finger to Harley, not Buell over this.

The info you want is in the parts book for your model.

I am mostly certain that the Blast uses the M2 master cylinder, and if it does, its the same exact part number and same price. This isn't GM which charges $10 extra for the Cadillac oil filter because the crown emblem is on it instead of a bowtie.

You don't need a list. Look in your parts book, the part numbers make it easy to figure out what it came off of.

Anyway, check eBay for a master cylinder, there might be one on there cheap.

Froggy, you missed my point or I wasn't able to say it very well.

Yes I could walk into an Authorized Buell Dealer and get my part , no problem. But I see no reason to do that if I could get the part off of Ebay on the cheap.

The difference is knowledge. If I had a cross reference on the master cylinder, then my options could possibly expand x 10.

Just because I can cross reference parts for my old Airhead setting in the garage doesn't make it bad or different, just easier, cheaper and quicker to buy parts.

Now if I could keep from ruining a perfectly good master cylinder in the first place life would be good...........

I blindly went for the Blast Master Cylinder and it was identical to the M2. but for cheap. I paid $3.25 + $7 shipping for the blast MC unit, others off M2's were $30-50, Oh yea, I got the mirror too.

The clutch lever off my 99 M2 is identical to the Suzuki GSXR for some years and there are a million of those out there for cheap.

This type of cross reference material is invaluable when maintaining the bike. I could go down to the dealer and let him drain my bank account I'm not in the position to have that done nor do I want to do that when there is an alternative for sometimes 1/10th the price like the MC

Just seems that it would be prudent to have a cross reference section on the site to access when funds are tight or parts are limited.

idk if anyone is still reading this thread but we'll try it.

would a master brake cylinder of an '08 blast fit a '00 blast?

I can't find one that's specifically 2000 and the dealership out here mentioned the model changing in 2005 but couldn't tell me specifics.

Any ideas?

The original problem is that my rear brake is stuck. Makes the bike harder to push than my bf's Yamaha 600

Brakes have already been bled, reseated the caliper, didn't check the return holes but I'm going to do that tonight.
