What keeps oil from draining back into the engine/crankcase on an XB? Thanks.

I am not sure about the XB but in the Tubers it actually does drain back into the crankcase. That's why if you check the oil level long after shut down vs. right away you will get different readings. Do you get the same exact oil level readings in the XB no matter how long you wait to check after a ride?

Im talking about the oil level getting lower the longer the bike sits. Sorry if I didnt explain it well.

On the tubers, and I think on the XB as well, there is a check-ball and spring behind the oil filter. Meaning, if you unscrew the oil filter, the threaded fitting that the filter screws onto can be unscrewed from the engine case. When it is removed, the ball and spring live there. If you have excessive leakage, you can replace the ball, as it gets a ridge on it over time.
