i have a 96 S1 now, but its had alot of work done by the PO so im not sure if the sprockets are stock... but what would be the most optimal for high mpg's? |

You can use European gearing, 29 front 55 rear. That way you use the same belt. Cheak out "What gear ya in?" mcmod.com/13-05.html |

My S1 began with euro gearing, then was id atlantic & now is full US - I didn't notice any difference in fuel use. It still cruises at sensible RPM - Euro spec was about 400rpm lower - but you get into top sooner with US gearing. No major difference IMO. US gearing is more fun - I'd keep it on a S1 - S1 is not a cruiser |
