Folks: I have a leather 1st gear and also a mesh jacket w/liner. I would like a jacket that I can wear all year. Vents well in hot weather, buttons up nicely in cold weather and is waterproof w/out needing to put in a liner. I would like to use it as a ski jacket.I am presently looking at a 1st gear kilmingaro any further ideas suggestions. I had an aerostich jacket that worked well in all those conditions but I sold it because it no longer fit, and was not the most comfortable riding jacket for me, it is also verfy expensive.

What you are looking for sounds like what I am looking for, but I'm leaning more towards a perforated leather jacket and a separate rain slicker.

Buell adventure jacket might be worth looking at. I've got one and really like it up into the 80's, then I break out the Buell mesh (crash tested now) for commuting type riding.

A jacket I plan to look at over the winter is the cortech hrx series 2. I have the pants already (also crash tested) and I really like them. I'd check that one out too.

Paul, try British Motorcycling Gear's Discovery or Adventure jackets.
http://britishmotorcyclegear.com/jackets.asp
The Adventure has a liner and the Discovery doesn't, but the problem you may come up against is that venting in most jackets will suffer if they have to be full-time waterproof. Openings for venting (important for those of us on the Eastern Shore) are contradictory to sealing up to keep water out.
I think I would stick with 2 jackets: let the cool/wet weather be covered with one that can also hit the slopes, and then get a mesh jacket for our hot summer riding. My mesh jacket is the only thing I can keep cool enough in during summer rides, and I think a textile jacket good enough for winter and rain would make you suffer in July/August.
