Im having an intermitten gas cap problem on my M2 Cyclone. There are times when its next to impossible to latch it after Im done fueling it. Does this thing need to be lubricated or someting? |

The cap should work the same all the time but there were some times it was stubborn. I lightly wiped the rubber area with Sil-glyde and that has helped wonderously. Also the top catch that rotates and cams down is attached thru the cap and has a nut under the cap that adjusts the camming action and firmness. This may become dry also in the shaft area so lube this area slightly. Good luck.

I have done the JB Weld trick, and it works. I strongly recommend that you let it cure completely before you put it back on. The first time didn't work because I put it back on to soon and I think the fuel got to it and the whole thing broke free again. Also, scar up the inner part where the epoxy will be touching the plastic. That will offer a better bond at that point. |
