I have this posted in the "Wanted" section, but haven't had any luck, so I'll try here.

I have a Buell Adventure jacket, size large, and lost one of the zip-out front vent panels. My local dealer checked their sources and allegedly can't get replacement panels. Anybody have any advice on a source, or have a "tested" jacket that can donate the panels?

If you can't find the panels, a Tailor could easily make something up for you. I am pretty sure they could match the fabric or get very close. Just a thought,

Thanks. That's where I'm going with it (fabric purchased), but the panels use a left-pull (European or women's?) zipper on one side and apparently replacement zippers are made from unobtanium despite the fact that they are used everywhere!! I've even contacted YKK directly and they've been about as helpful as a screen door on a submarine.

I've got one more iron in the fire to try and get the left-pull zipper, but am not optimistic. After that, I'm left with disassembling the jacket to install completely different zippers, modify the attachment system, or just go without the panels. If anybody has a source for the left-pull YKK 20" coil zipper on black, I'm all ears!

Thanks. That's what I read somewhere and that would be the one iron I have in the fire. The person I spoke to the other day actually wanted to try and help me. The zipper people either laughed at me or just wanted me to go away. I'm still waiting for a return call, but hope is dimming. Hopefully the delay is because they're jumping through hoops. I plan to call them back later this week.
