Will a 08 oil pump fit a 04 xb12s, my oil pump is shot ( along with the oil pump drive gear, but of course I'm ordering the upgraded model) or is it even worth spending the extra money (188 for mine and 385 for the 08)?? Please help yall I can't go to much longer without my bike!!!

I think there was a stealth upgrade to the pump after 2005... it pumps better and that pump is backwards compatible.

But then they changed it again in 2008 or something, to the pump that is also a cam cover. I don't know if that one would be possible to attach at all, if it was, there would probably be other major plumbing problems.

How many miles, Dustin?

Thank-you Bill for tip on early oil pump improvement.

Is there way to open cam box without opening the top-end...?
Service manual says no.
