Primary gasket on my 2000 M2 (10k on odo)is leaking oil. It needs to be replaced, and HD service is NOT an option.

(i have trust issues)

Im mechanically inclined (somewhat)and have the shop manual, yet im a little apprehensive to do this job myself. Should I not be so worried and get to it?

Is there any incorrect info in the shop manual?

Manual is pretty dead nuts. Make sure you take the tension off of the primary shoe and you'll need to lift the primary chain up onto the shoe when you're putting the cover back on. You may want to cut a few pieces of 3 or 4" all tread to help guide the cover on and keep the gasket and spacer pins in place. Also cover the splines of the shifter shaft with teflon or other tape to prevent the splines from tearing up the shift shaft gasket when you reinstall everything.
