Hello,

I am new to the Buell and about to buy a used XB12s.

My question is: Is there anything I need to know about the 12s as far as the engine goes? Is there a big change in the years? have to I am looking at. a 2004 12.000 miles and a 2007 6.000 miles.

Thank you for any tip

The oiling system got upgraded over time. 06 and up had the better pinion gear ($50 part that takes a decent amount of disassembly to bolt on), and by 2008 or something, they had the new oil pump assembly (visible as a new cam cover).

But from day 1, the XB's were well sorted out bikes. So the newer ones are better, but the oldies are not at all bad.

Oh, and the belt / pulleys kept getting better as well, with a big jump (belt and pulleys) in 05, and another big jump in 08 I think (just belt). That's worth at least $100 right there...
