I have a 2001 Buell M2 with 19 k miles. I have had to replace the fork seals for the fourth time. They have been replaced at three different shops using OEM seals. I dont abuse the bike (wheelies, stoppies) just ride. Anyone else have this problem or are my forks/seals just a "lemon"? If so, can anyone recommend a website/company to purchase new ones. Thx. Z

If the bushings are trash they will trash the seals. Did they replace them or just the seals.

Thanks Midnight rider, Buell bert and Kusskid76 for the quick response! I will go back to the shop and ask those questions. Didnt think to ask about the bushings, but had them check the tubes for nicks (none found). I'll let you'all know.

Thx Z

The bushings are cheap.. about $10 the last time I bought them.
So is a fork leg, was less than $50.
The left one on my M2 did the same thing.. went through 3 seals.
I finally replaced the fork tube, no more problem.

The tube looked perfect, no surface defects to the naked eye. Must have been rough enough from road blast to make them leak.

Zman, if you don't mind me asking, how much did the shop charge you for doing the forks? My local HD/Buell dealer quoted me 4 hours labor plus parts. Seemed a bit too much.
Thanks.
