Does anyone have experience with the D&D vs. the Supertrapp IDS? I heard the D&D is built rock solid and bulletproof but is WAY loud.

Now I've read a lot of posts regarding Supertrapp quality problems. How does a Supertrapp IDS compare in sound to a Vance and Hines for a stock header? I ran a V&H for many years on a stock header '96 S1 and I liked the sound and performance.

Also, does anyone know if I can mount the D&D race muffler on a stock header if I purchase the angled mid-pipe from D&D? It looks like it should work.

Thanks!

I think your pipe has a 2" collector. The D&D on my S3 has a 2.5" inlet. I don't know if D&D makes a 2" mid pipe.

Twowheel, I had both. First the Supertrapp and IMO, it was junk. The stuffing kept blowing out. The DnD is better built. Also, better mid range on the butt dyno. Yes, it is louder but I don't think it's too loud. Also, I get a ton of positive feedback on the tone, really opens it up and sounds like a twin should!

You need to have the new Y adaptor. I did and installed it somewhat easily (had to use a little force to line up).
