My younger brother has had four mufflers break on his Blast. Same spot up at the head. Is there a fix to this as this is becoming a pita trucking it the the dealer over and over? Will they comp cost on an aftermarket one?

Will they comp cost on an aftermarket one?

No and it likely, unless you got a unique 1 in 70,000 Blast, has nothing to do with your Blast.

I'd check the service manual and make certain that it was properly installed.

Generally when you have something that occurs on ONE bike you have to look for something unique to that particular installation.

You might remind your brother(or his dealer) of the saying . . insanity is doing the same thing over and expecting different results.

Check your front isolator and it's bracket. They break and will cause muffler issues when they do.

The isolator bracket is the piece of aluminum which is bolted to the cylinder head. It is held to the cylinder by two large bolts, and is stamped "Do Not Remove." Check it for cracks.

The isolator is a round rubber thing bolted to the bottom of this bracket. I don't know how to describe the difference between a good and a bad one. Compare it to one on a different Blast.

They replaced that bracket the last time. Oh well, I will relay the info. Thanks Guys.

I'd suggest they look for the CAUSE . . .not the SYMPTOM.

If it has broken 4 times and you do the SAME thing, I'd be willing to bet that any muffler, bought or comped, is likely to do the same thing.

Seek knowledge, not bailing wire.

+1 on what Court said.
You need to drill down and make sure you are addressing the root cause.
